O2 Academy Gig

Posted by taketotheseas on January 30th, 2009

Hello to you.

We have a gig on the 7th of March at O2 Academy 2 in Sheffield which we are very excited about. We are supporting Lights Action and Aviators, two great bands who we are very pleased to be playing with!

Tickets are £5 in advance which you can get through us, we’ll have some CDs and hopefully some posters at the gig as well which you can get your slender mits on.

If you don’t want to see Ben Hardie on the doorstep of your house the following day with some vaseline, a butternut squash and a look of malicious intent I suggest you come down!

Love and hugs,

Take To The Seas

Greetings!

Greetings!

We are Take to the Seas, and we have been working away in our secret underground lair for the past couple of months, diligently writing, practicing and designing, only venturing out to photograph our handsome young mugs.

We have recently recorded two of our songs, ‘It’s Science’ and the song from which we take our name, ‘Take to the Seas’. They arrive in your beautifully shapen ears following recording by Ben Hardie and mixing by Graeme Atkinson.

We are kind young gentlemen and have put up the songs for free download, just follow the link at the top of our myspace page. Please let us know what you think!

We will be playing numerous gigs around Shef Angeles next semester so keep an eye out, we would like to see you there!

Over and out.

Puffer Jacket

It has been reported that Duncan has recently had a disturbing image crisis. He has grown a beard and bought a puffer jacket. How this will affect the band remains to be seen.

Check out this review of our recent gig at Shibuya, Onest. We like to think of it as a rather backhanded compliment!

The Watanabes are delighted to have had an article written about them by the BBC: They are particularly delighted to have achieved a life long ambition by putting Swanton Novers on the map!

The last post

This is us at Favourite Tree Records welcoming you to the newest, shiniest and altogether loveliest record label in the world.

We have an international starting lineup: The Watanabes from Tokyo and Towns And Houses from York, England.

Two more bands are expected to join us in the coming weeks.  Maybe there will be more in the long run, but only if they’re truly superb (nothing less is expected from FTR).
